Initial Assessment and Inspection

As soon as wet carpet cleaners arrive at the scene, inspection of the damaged premise and evaluation of the damage will be done. We have special tools and equipment to accurately evaluate the damage and moisture levels.

For inspection and evaluation, appropriate instruments are rested on the floors, ceilings, and baseboards in the damaged rooms to get an accurate reading.

We assess if drying equipment is required depending on the IICRC (Inspection Cleaning and Restoration Certification) dry standards and moisture content readings.

Preventing Further Flood Damage

The longer the duration of water damage untreated, the more likely it is to occur additional damage. If we determine that the drying accessories will be needed, we will place dehumidifiers to prevent further damage such as mould growth, mildew prevention, and other structural damage.

Dehumidifiers and other drying equipment will be placed for multiple nights depending upon the extent of the water damage and source of the leakage.

Flood Water Extraction

This is the most important step: removing flood damage water from the home.

The water extraction method uses high-tech vacuums sucking up all the water from the area. The amount of time that it takes depends upon the type of substrate being dried, the amount of water present in the area, the size of the room and the surrounding structure affected.

Normally, hundreds of litres of water are removed using our powerful suction pumps and vacuums during the water removal process. Our professionals start this process as soon as possible to minimise further damage and prevent mould growth.

The Drying Process

The drying process starts upon removing the flood water. Air circulation and drying process involve putting up a few dehumidifiers and air movers for drying.

During this process, there is also a possibility of lifting up a section of the carpet for drying most saturated portions of the room and corners.

For hardwood floors, we may use floor mats to draw water from the floor. Depending upon the extent of water damage, we may as well remove baseboards and drill holes into the drywall to help walls dry faster. The last option is very rare but may be used to prevent demolishing the house.

Anti Bacterial Treatment

We offer anti-bacterial and anti-microbial treatment to eliminate the growth and sustenance of bacteria from your carpets and wet structure.

We sanitise your carpet to prevent the growth of mould and mildew. With the sanitisation, bad and nasty odours will also be removed.

Creepy crawlies will also be eliminated such as dander, dust mites and allergens. You will get hygienic environment to live in with our anit-bacterial treatment.

Air Purification and Odour

When the area remains wet for a longer time, the bad odour and foul smell starts to prevail. This is due to the water coming in contact with several objects and chemical reaction of water with structure, floors, and fabric.

To prevent and control the bad odour from spreading in other rooms and premise, we sanitise the area with air purifiers.

Regular and thorough cleaning of these items is obviously the best way to keep odour under control, but often we don't recognize it until an unpleasant smell has taken over our home. One of the added benefits of using one of the air purifiers listed above is that your home will smell cleaner and fresher.

Carpet Steam Cleaning and Deodorising

Carpet steam cleaning is the next step. Upon drying, we steam clean carpets to bring back them to its original condition. The colour of your carpet will be restored again.
